Guide of select plastic ball valve

There are UPVC,CPVC,PPH,PVDF,FRPP material plastic ball valves in our company for your choose.

Plastic Ball valves work well for low temperature, high pressure and high viscosity fluids. They can handle media with suspended solid particles, as well as powdered and granular substances based on sealing materials.

The full-channel ball valve is not designed for flow control, but it is ideal for quick opening and closing to facilitate emergency shut-offs. Ball valves are best used in pipelines that require strong sealing, narrow channels, rapid opening and closing, high pressure difference, low noise, gasification, small torque, and minimal fluid resistance.

Plastic Ball valves are ideal for applications requiring lightweight construction, low pressure shutoff and management of corrosive medium. They are also very effective for handling cryogenic and deeply cooled media. In systems and equipment that handle cryogenic media, it is recommended to use cryogenic ball valves with valve covers.

A large amount of force is required to operate a large diameter ball valve. For ball valves with a diameter of DN≥200mm, it is recommended to use worm gear transmission. Fixed ball valves are suitable for larger diameter and high pressure applications. In addition, ball valves on pipelines used to transport highly toxic or flammable materials should have fireproof and antistatic construction.

Fixed ball valve is a valve that controls the opening and closing of the valve through the rotation of the ball inside the valve. There is a through hole in the middle of the sphere and it can be rotated 90°. The diameter of the through hole is equal to or smaller than the diameter of the pipe. When the ball rotates 90°, both the inlet and outlet of the pipe are covered by the ball, effectively closing the valve and cutting off the flow of fluid.

When the PVC ball valve is rotated 90° backwards, both the inlet and outlet of the pipe are exposed, allowing fluid to pass through the valve. PVC Ball valves can rotate at different angles to control the flow of fluid. Fixed ball valves are often used in general pipelines transporting fluids such as water, oil, steam, etc.

How can we choose ball valves? What should we consider to choose PVC ball valve?

1, Material:

The material of the ball valve components must be compatible with the fluid, commonly UPVC,CPVC,PPH,PVDF and other plastic materials. At the same time, according to the actual application needs, choose different pressure level ball valves.

PVC is a commonly used plastic material, and valves made of PVC are called PVC valves. PVC valves not only have chemical stability, but also have good mechanical strength and processing performance. PVC valves are suitable for the transportation of low-temperature and low-pressure fluids in construction, chemical industry, metallurgy, electric power and other industries.

It should be noted that PVC valves have poor temperature resistance and are generally not suitable for high temperature environments. In addition, when using PVC valves, care should be taken to avoid collision and friction to avoid breakage and affect its service life.

PVDF is a high-performance plastic materials, valves made of PVDF is called PVDF valves. PVDF has a high degree of corrosion resistance, heat resistance and abrasion resistance, and is widely used in the chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, machinery and other fields. PVDF valves have the advantage of being able to withstand extremely low temperatures and high pressures, and are able to resist corrosion of high-temperature chemicals.

It should be noted that PVDF valves are more expensive, its processing is more difficult, you need to choose special processing equipment for production. In addition, in the use of PVDF valves should avoid impact, friction and heavy collision, in order to avoid damage to the valve.

2, Pressure and Temperature Ratings:

Make sure the ball valve has the appropriate pressure and temperature ratings to handle the conditions within the system. It should be able to withstand maximum operating pressures and temperatures without compromising performance or safety.

3, End Connection:

Select the appropriate end connection for the ball valve according to the requirements of the piping system. Depending on the specific needs of the system, consider factors such as threaded, flanged or welded connections.

4, Flow control requirements:

Determine the flow control requirements of the system, such as on/off service or throttling, and select a ball valve with appropriate flow characteristics (e.g., full bore, reduced bore) and control mechanism (e.g. Manual, automatic) to meet operational needs.

5, Compliance and Certification:

Ensure that the ball valve selected meets relevant industry standards and certifications such as DIN, ANSI, ASTM and ISO standards to ensure quality, performance and safety.

6, Sizing and Port Configuration:

Consider ball valve size and port configuration to ensure compatibility with the pipe size and flow requirements of the system. Valve size and port configuration should match the specific needs of the application.

By carefully considering these factors, a ball valve can be selected that is well suited to the specific requirements of the application, providing efficient and reliable flow control while ensuring safety and performance.
